Godzilla Minus Zero to unveil first look on April 14

The upcoming Godzilla Minus Zero is set to make an early appearance before industry audiences next month. Footage from the upcoming film Godzilla Minus Zero is scheduled to be presented during the opening “State of the Industry” program at CinemaCon on April 14 in Las Vegas.

According to Variety, the presentation will be hosted by distributor GKIDS and will take place at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Filmmaker Takashi Yamazaki is expected to appear on stage to introduce the preview. The director previously won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects for his work on Godzilla Minus One and will return to the franchise for the new project as director, screenwriter, and head of visual effects.

The preview will offer convention attendees an early look at the film, which is currently in production. Like most footage shown during CinemaCon presentations, the material is unlikely to be released publicly online.

The CinemaCon showcase also highlights the growing relationship between GKIDS and Japanese studio Toho. The company acquired GKIDS in 2024, strengthening the distributor’s ties to Japanese productions and to the Godzilla franchise in particular. The film is being produced by Toho Studios and Robot Communications, with visual effects work handled by Shirogumi Inc..

According to Cinema United president and chief executive Michael O’Leary, “The future strength of our industry depends on a year-round diverse slate of films that speaks to audiences around the world. GKIDS exemplifies a commitment to diverse moviegoing choices.”

Godzilla Minus Zero is scheduled to debut in Japan on November 3, 2026, through Toho. A wide North American theatrical release will follow on November 6, 2026, through GKIDS.
