Christian Bale Laughs After Fan Says He Was ‘Great’ in Thor 4

Christian Bale recently had a fun interaction with a fan, who complimented him on his performance as Gorr in the 2022 movie, Thor: Love and Thunder. He portrayed the main antagonist in director Taika Waititi’s Thor 4, opposite Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and more. While the movie received mixed reception, many lauded Bale’s portrayal of the God Butcher.

Christian Bale reacts to fan’s Thor: Love and Thunder praise

The Academy Award winner, who recently appeared in Maggie Gyllenhaal’s The Bride, stopped to sign a few autographs in New York City when a fan praised him for playing Gorr in Thor: Love and Thunder.

In a video going viral on X (formerly Twitter), the fan commented, “Don’t care what people say. You did a great job.” Christian Bale was taken aback by the sudden comment and asked, “What are they saying?” The fan continued, “It was the worst movie ever. For me, it’s a good movie. Don’t tell. Do not let anyone know.”

After Bale learned that the fans were talking about his portrayal of Gorr in Thor 4, he repeated the compliment another fan gave him. “He said, ‘You did a great job. I don’t care what anyone else says.'”

Bale as Gorr the God Butcher received immense praise from Marvel fans. Although Thor 4 didn’t get much praise, fans said he was a scene-stealer and should’ve had more screen time.

In July 2022, the American Psycho actor revealed that many Gorr scenes were cut from the film. He told Collider that Thor 4 had many things that he “wish was in this film.” The 52-year-old continued that the movie had “so much gold, hilarious stuff, and creepy as hell stuff.”

However, according to Christian Bale, adding all the aforementioned deleted elements to Thor: Love and Thunder would’ve taken it away from the family-friendly tag, which the makers and Marvel Studios wanted to retain.
