Arnold Schwarzenegger gives updates on Predator return and Commando 2

Arnold Schwarzenegger has suggested that some of his most famous action roles could return to the big screen. During an appearance at the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio, the veteran actor spoke about recent conversations with studios regarding potential projects connected to the Predator franchise and a sequel to Commando.

According to Schwarzenegger, filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg has been developing additional stories within the Predator universe. He claims Trachtenberg has also expressed interest in bringing the original star back for a future installment. Reflecting on those conversations, he said, “They did an additional Predator, and the director (Dan Trachtenberg) has been doing a great job of that. Now, he wants me to be in the next Predator. We’ve talked about it.”

In addition to the Predator discussion, Schwarzenegger revealed that the studio has recently approached him about returning to another well-known character. The actor said he has received a script for a possible sequel to Commando, the 1985 action film. “As a matter of fact, FOX Studios has kind of rediscovered ‘Arnold.’ They’ve come to me and said, ‘We want you to do Predator, we just got a script for you to do Commando 2,’” he recalled.

Schwarzenegger first appeared in Predator as Dutch, a role that became one of the most well-known performances of his action career. He later led Commando as John Matrix, a retired elite soldier. His character launches a one-man mission to rescue his kidnapped daughter. As of now, neither project has been officially announced. However, the actor’s comments indicate that conversations are underway about bringing these classic characters back.
