Jennifer Lawrence & Robert Pattinson’s Divisive Movie Could Get New Ending
A recent movie starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson may be getting a new ending following its divisive original conclusion.
What Jennifer Lawrence movie might get a new ending?
Speaking during an appearance at the Glasgow Film Festival, Lynne Ramsay revealed that her 2025 movie Die My Love may get a different ending. Ramsay noted that getting the film ready for its Cannes Film Festival screening was “a real rush job” and that there were alternate cuts of the movie.
The movie, which adapts Ariana Harwicz’s novel, features a different ending from the book. In the movie, Lawrence’s character Grace leaves a disastrous homecoming party and sets fire to a forest, leaving her husband chasing after her as he tries to find her within the blaze. According to Ramsay, she filmed various endings, including one in which Grace finds and saves Jackson (Pattinson) from the fire.
“Maybe one of these days I’ll get to that ending and I’ll change it and she will save him from the burning forest,” Ramsay said (via Deadline). The movie’s ending, as well as its overall moody atmosphere, was a divisive topic amongst fans. While the movie scored a great 76% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, its audience score, 46%, is filled with people questioning some of the movie.
Die My Love is directed by Lynne Ramsay (Ratcatcher) from a screenplay written by Ramsay and Enda Walsh. The movie also stars LaKeith Stanfield as Karl, Sissy Spacek as Pam, Nick Nolte as Harry, Gabrielle Rose as Jen, and more. In addition to leading the cast, Lawrence is also producing alongside Justine Ciarrocchi for Excellent Cadaver.
It is also produced by Martin Scorsese, Andrea Calderwood, Thad Luckinbill, Trent Luckinbill, and Molly Smith. Since its world premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, the movie has already garnered a Tomatometer rating of 78% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 49 reviews.
