Kerry Washington & Omar Sy’s 2025 Action Movie Flop Arrives on Netflix Today

A 2025 Kerry Washington movie is officially available to watch now on Netflix, bringing an action thriller starring her and Omar Sy to the platform.

Shadow Force, Lionsgate Films’ film directed by Joe Carnahan, is now available to watch on Netflix. The movie was released in May 2025, and follows the story of a special forces couple that becomes the target of a large bounty.

Alongside Washington and Sy, Shadow Force also stars Mark Strong, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Cliff “Method Man” Smith. The movie premiered to mostly negative reviews, and had a poor showing at the global box office.

“Kyrah and Isaac were once the leaders of a multinational special forces group called Shadow Force,” reads the official synopsis of the film. “They broke the rules by falling in love, and in order to protect their son, they go underground. With a large bounty on their heads, and the vengeful Shadow Force hot on their trail, one family’s fight becomes all-out war.”

Shadow Force is directed by Joe Carnahan, who co-wrote the screenplay with Leon Chills. When the project was first announced, it was likened to the box office hit Mr. & Mrs. Smith, described as a fresh take on the 2005 action-comedy. In addition to leading the cast, Washington also produced alongside Stephen “Dr.” Love and Sterling K. Brown. The latter was originally cast for the lead role but later decided to stay on as a producer.
