R-Rated Emma Stone & Margaret Qualley Movie Out on Hulu Today
Hulu subscribers can finally watch one of Emma Stone‘s black comedy movies with acclaimed director Yorgos Lanthimos. Beginning today, the 2024 star-studded film Kinds of Kindness from Searchlight Pictures is now officially streaming on Hulu.
What do we know about Emma Stone’s R-rated movie?
Kinds of Kindness was directed by Lanthimos, who co-wrote the screenplay with Efthimis Filippou. Besides Stone, the ensemble cast also included Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schafer. Out of all Stone’s collaborations with the award-winning filmmaker, the 2024 movie received the lowest approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with 71%.
“The film is a triptych fable, following a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life; a policeman who is alarmed that his wife, who was missing at sea, has returned and seems a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader,” reads the movie’s official synopsis.
The movie was produced by Ed Guiney, Lanthimos, Andrew Lowe, and Kasia Malipan, with Daniel Battsek, Louise Lovegrove, and Ollie Madden serving as executive producers. The creative team consisted of director of photography Robbie Ryan, composer Jerskin Fendrix, editor Yorgos Mavropsaridis, production designer Anthony Gasparro, and costume designer Jennifer Johnson.
Stone and Lanthimos’ most recent movie together was last year’s Bugonia, which was an English-language remake of the South Korean movie Save the Green Planet!. The film was produced by Midsommar director Ari Aster. At the moment, the psychological dark comedy is nominated for four major Academy Awards, including Best Actress, Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Original Score.
