What happens in the Newborn trailer?
The video shows Oyelowo’s character, who goes on a family trip after getting out of prison. The trailer sets up the movie’s eerie vibe and tone, as it offers a glimpse into the painful trauma and inner struggles he has to face if he wants to rebuild his life. The emotionally charged and edge-of-your-seat psychological thriller promises to leave a mark on the audience.
Newborn is written and directed by Nate Parker. The movie also stars Olivia Washington as Tara, Barry Pepper as Hersh, Jimmie Fails as Keith, Thomas Cadrot as Derek, Rukiya Bernard as Ella, Aiden Stoxx as Jake, Naomi Simpson as Annie, and more. It is produced by Parker, Oyelowo, Aaron L. Gilbert, and Christina Lee Storm. AMC Theatres acquired the exclusive distribution rights to the movie earlier this month.
“Newborn is the kind of bold, provocative, and original storytelling that comes alive on the big screen,” AMC Theatres boss Nikkole Denson-Randolph said in a statement (via Deadline). “We’re proud to be the exclusive exhibitor supporting a release model that prioritizes theatrical.”
