Russell Brand has entered a “not guilty” plea to two additional charges of rape and sexual assault. The 50-year-old actor and YouTuber has faced allegations from multiple women. Russell Brand pleaded not guilty at Southwark Crown Court in London

Russell Brand pleaded not guilty to two new sexual assault charges at Southwark Crown Court in London on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. The new allegations of rape and sexual assault are reported to have taken place in 2009. This is according to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Brand appeared at the courthouse carrying a copy of the Bible with several pages bookmarked (via BBC). He stood in the glass enclosure, confirmed his name, and listened as a court clerk read the charges against him. He then entered a not guilty plea.

Before these new allegations, Brand had pleaded not guilty in cases involving four other women.

In 2025, Brand pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape, one count of indecent assault, and two counts of sexual assault. It is in connection with alleged offenses in London and Bournemouth between 1999 and 2005.

A trial scheduled for June will address the original charges against the Get Him to Greek star. A separate hearing is expected to determine whether the two new charges will be added to the existing five counts against him.

Investigators began examining allegations against Brand after The Sunday Times, The Times, and Channel 4’s Dispatches reported claims in 2023. Since then, Brand has remained at the center of public attention.

The actor, known for films such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall, first gained prominence as a stand-up comedian and television host.

Further updates regarding the case are expected.
