My Dead Summer Trailer Sets Grateful Dead Movie’s Release Date | Exclusive
ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive trailer for My Dead Summer, the upcoming mockumentary movie from Red Hound Entertainment. It centers around a wannabe vlogger and his ex-hippy stepfather as they go on a concert road trip in honor of his late mother, who was a big fan of the iconic rock band Grateful Dead.
“Kenny Rodgers Royce lives to tell stories, and his blog is his outlet to connect with the world. His newest must-tell story came to him in a dream: to follow in his late mother’s Deadhead footsteps as he captures the final tour of Dead and Company,” reads the movie’s official synopsis. “Accompanied by a two-man film crew, his dog Lily Pad, and his ex-hippy stepfather, every adventure and misadventure is captured in stunning detail.”

When is the release date for My Dead Summer?
My Dead Summer will be available to rent or own on digital platforms in the U.S. and Canada starting on March 3, 2026. The movie’s cast includes Paul Stenerson as Kenny Rodgers Royce, Kevin Muster as Zeke, Ashlee Buchanan as Fiona, Elaine Ballace as Monica, Bill Brennenstuhl, and Dalen Muster.
The mockumentary is directed by Brennenstuhl, who co-wrote the screenplay with Stenerson. It is produced by Brennenstuhl, Stenerson, Dalen Muster, Kevin Muster, James Huntsman, and Patrick Alach. In addition to directing and starring, Brennenstuhl is also serving as a cinematographer along with Dalen Muster. The filmmaker is also set as the film’s editor with Stenerson. It will feature original music composed by Billy Garzone.
