Brad Pitt’s Most Controversial Movie Returning to Theaters Ahead of 4K Release
One of Brad Pitt’s best and most controversial movies is returning to theaters ahead of an upcoming 4K release for the classic.
What Brad Pitt is returning to theaters?
Fight Club, the oft misunderstood 1999 classic, is returning to theaters for a one-night-only nationwide event on April 22, 2026. The film will be presented in a new definitive 4K presentation, with more information on the film’s theatrical release likely coming in the future.
Alongside the theatrical event, 20th Century Studios also announced that on May 12, 2026, a 4K Ultra HD Steelbook and 4K digital release of the movie will be released. No information on whether the new release will feature brand new special features was announced, though, so it’s unclear if the 4K release will have any exclusive items in it.
Originally released in 1999 and directed by David Fincher, Fight Club is based on the 1996 novel of the same name by Chuck Palahniuk, and stars Pitt, Edward Norton, Helena Bonham Carter, Meat Loaf Aday, and Jared Leto. The film follows the story of an unnamed narrator (Norton) living a white-collar life before meeting a soap salesman, Tyler Durden (Pitt), and joining a “fight club” that he runs.
The movie released to extremely polarizing results. Although the film has became a cult classic and viewed as a classic years later, the movie was widely seen as controversial upon its release, due to its subject matter and understanding of the characters in it. Following its home video release, though, the movie gained wider popularity, and is now seen as one of the defining movies of the 1990s.
