How Hugh Jackman Predicted Avengers: Doomsday Team-up 13 Years Ago
Marvel Studios may have officially announced Avengers: Doomsday in 2024, but Hugh Jackman seems to have predicted the massive team-up of Marvel heroes in 2013. With the Avengers sequel gradually nearing its release date, an old video of the Australian actor has resurfaced in which he casually predicts the big-screen collaboration between the most prominent Marvel characters in history.

In the build-up to Avengers: Doomsday, an old interview of Hugh Jackman talking about a monumental team-up between all Marvel royalty has started to go viral online.
“I believe, maybe I’m optimistic, [but] I understand at Marvel, they’ve got Avengers. They’ve got a lot of big things going on,” Jackman said during a 2013 promotional interview for The Wolverine. “But at some point, I just find it almost impossible that there’s not a way to bring Iron Man, all the Avengers characters, Wolverine, the X-Men characters, Spider-Man, and somehow get them in together.”
The longtime X-Men actor seems to have had the right idea, as Avengers: Doomsday will feature all of these iconic characters on screen.
The movie will mark the MCU returns of Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans, as well as bringing back Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, and Paul Rudd to their long-time MCU roles. Meanwhile, other MCU stars such as Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Mabel Cadena, Florence Pugh, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Lewis Pullman, and India Rose Hemsworth will also appear in the new Avengers film.
The actors from the 20th Century Fox X-Men movies who will be reprising their roles include Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and James Marsden. The Fantastic Four family, comprised of Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn, will also feature in Doomsday. Channing Tatum from Deadpool & Wolverine will also appear in Avengers: Doomsday as Gambit. However, it currently remains unclear if Hugh Jackman will come back as the claw-wielding mutant in the much-awaited sequel.
Avengers: Doomsday is currently on track to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.
