Brendan Fraser & Andrew Scott Star in World War II Movie Pressure Trailer

Focus Features has shared the official trailer for Pressure, its newest World War II movie led by Oscar winner Brendan Fraser (The Whale) as General Eisenhower and Emmy nominee Andrew Scott (Ripley) as Captain James Stagg. The historical drama is slated to arrive in theaters on May 29, 2026, pitting it directly against the upcoming horror movie Passenger at the box office.

“In the tense 72 hours before D-Day, and the fate of the free world hanging in the balance, the film follows General Dwight D. Eisenhower and Captain James Stagg as they face an impossible choice—launch the largest and most dangerous invasion in history or risk losing the war altogether,” reads the official synopsis.

What do we know about Pressure?

Pressure is directed by Anthony Maras, who co-wrote the screenplay with David Haig, based on Haig’s 2014 stage play of the same name. The star-studded cast also includes Kerry Condon as Kay Summersby, Chris Messina as Irving P. Krick, Damian Lewis as Bernard Montgomery, Con O’Neill as Trafford Leigh-Mallory, Daniel Quinn-Toye as Michael Gregory, and more. It is produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Lucas Webb for Working Title, with Cass Marks and Studiocanal’s Anna Marsh, Ron Halpern, and Joe Naftalin serving as executive producers.

Fraser’s most recent movie was the Japan-set dramedy Rental Family, which received an approval rating of 87% on Rotten Tomatoes. Recently, Fraser officially signed on to reprise his iconic role as Rick O’Connell in a new installment of The Mummy. As for Scott, he just appeared in Netflix’s latest Benoit Blanc movie, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. He is currently attached to star alongside Michelle Williams in the A Place in Hell movie.
