Topher Grace on if Longtime Friend Glen Powell Has Changed Since ‘Blowing Up’
Spider-Man 3 star Topher Grace seems amazed at how his longtime friend, Glen Powell, has not changed at all since he hit a streak of stardom. Powell has effectively turned into a renowned A-lister over the past few years, garnering immense success all around the industry. But Grace claims that Powell has not changed at all, even as his career skyrocketed.
Topher Grace talks about Glen Powell
Topher Grace has been friends with Glen Powell for a long time. Though the pair is set to make their first on-screen appearance together in A24’s How to Make a Killing, they have known each other since their early days in the industry.
Powell’s career has been magnificent over the past few years. He has become one of the most spoken names in Hollywood, but that has hardly changed the person he is.
“I’ve known Glen for a long time,” Grace said about Powell to PEOPLE. “I’ve known him for years. Yeah, we’ve never acted together — up until now.” He recalled that they met through a friend back in 2009.
“I remember being very impressed by him when I met him,” The Delirium actor noted, “I have kids now, so I don’t know anyone I knew back then.” He added, “I remember thinking, ‘Okay, let’s go over there and see if Glen is the same,’ because he was really blowing up at that moment, and he was exactly the same human.”
Topher Grace continued to marvel at the Top Gun: Maverick actor. “All my time in Hollywood, I’ve never seen someone handle it so well and just be the same guy,” he added. He further added about Powell’s performance in the upcoming film, “The thing that ties it all together is Glen. He’s a great leading man.”
How to Make a Killing, inspired loosely by the iconic Kind Hearts and Coronets, will premiere in the United States on February 20, 2026. The film also stars Margaret Qualley, Jessica Henwick, Bill Camp, Zach Woods, and Ed Harris.
