‘I’m the Next James Bond’: Callum Turner’s Costar Gives Hilarious Answer to 007 Question

One of Callum Turner’s co-stars in his upcoming movie, Rosebush Pruning, poked fun at the recent rumors about Turner’s potential casting as James Bond. Before this, a recent report claimed that the Eternity star is one of the top actors being eyed to succeed Daniel Craig as the long-running action franchise’s next Agent 007.

What did Callum Turner’s co-star say about his rumored James Bond casting?

During a recent interview at the Berlin International Film Festival, Turner was asked about his thoughts regarding his rumored casting as James Bond. Interestingly, the British actor declined to further comment on the subject. He revealed that it’s “very early” for him to answer the question, seemingly hinting at his possible ongoing talks with the studio.

“You’re right, it’s very early for that question,” He said. “I’m not going to comment on it. Thanks.”

Turner’s co-star, Tracy Letts, hilariously intervened by joking that he was actually going to be James Bond.

“I’m sorry, I’m the next James Bond,” Letts joked to everyone’s delight. “Tracy, I thought you weren’t going to tell anyone!” Turner responded.

The next James Bond movie will be directed by Dune filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, with Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight writing the screenplay. At the moment, casting speculations about the new 007 continue to circulate online. Besides Turner, Jacob Elordi, Tom Holland, Harris Dickinson, Henry Cavill, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson were said to be among the studio’s potential picks. The studio is expected to make a final decision sometime in 2026 since production will reportedly begin in 2027, just in time for its rumored November 2028 theatrical release.

In a previous interview, Knight revealed what James Bond fans can expect from the next 007 movie, teasing a “better, stronger, and bolder” story that’s different from past iterations.

“It has always been on my bucket list, and it’s fantastic to be invited to do it — I can’t wait to get started,” Knight teased. “I’m hoping that, being a Bond fan for so many years, it will be imbued into me and I will be able to produce something that’s the same but different, and better, stronger, and bolder.”
