Gillian Anderson & I Saw the TV Glow Director’s Horror Movie Gets First Look, Release Date

The first official look at Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, the upcoming horror movie from I Saw the TV Glow director Jane Schoenbrun starring Gillian Anderson, has been released, alongside release information.

The first official look at the movie was shown off from Mubi, but doesn’t show off a whole lot. The teaser trailer shows shows off the cast of the movie, which features some huge names, and teases “a new kind of horror remake” from Schoenbrun. Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma will release on August 7, 2026. Check out the teaser trailer below:

What do we know about Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma?

“A queer director making a slasher franchise sequel becomes obsessed with casting the original film’s ‘final girl,’ leading both women into psychological and sexual chaos,” reads the film’s logline.

Previously, Schoenbrun described the film as “Portrait of a Lady on Fire set in a Friday the 13th sequel.” Not too much is known about the film’s plot aside from that, but in a previous interview with Filmmaker Magazine, she did say that the movie would be “all about sex,” specifically learning about sex after transitioning.

The film is led by Hannah Einbinder (Hacks) and Gillian Anderson, and also stars Amanda Fix, Arthur Conti, Eva Victor, Zach Cherry, Sarah Sherman, Patrick Fischler, Dylan Baker, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Quintessa Swindell, Kevin McDonald, and Jack Haven as “Little Death.”

“My next movie is all about sex––essentially a movie about learning to enjoy sex after transition,” said Schoenbrun. “Pre-transition, it wasn’t that I was asexual––I had plenty of desire––but having good sex in the wrong body was impossible. What was available was full dissociation, which is obviously a theme in the first two films.”

In a profile in The New Yorker, the movie is said to both “honor and critique” the serial killer genre, hinting that the movie will be a slasher of some sort. Schoenbrun’s I Saw the TV Glow released earlier this year via A24, and was a success both critically and at the box office, where it earned $5.3 million.
