Jason Statham Teams With John Wick Director for Meta Action Movie
Jason Statham is teaming up with John Wick’s David Leitch for a new meta action movie.
Statham has starred in numerous action movies throughout the course of his career, with some of his most recent movies being 2024’s The Beekeeper and 2025’s A Working Man. He also plays a character named Michael Mason in Ric Roman Waugh’s Shelter, which was released in United States theaters last month.
What do we know about the Jason Statham action movie?
Per Deadline, Statham will now star in a brand-new meta, big-budget action comedy movie called Jason Statham Stole My Bike.
Plot details are being kept under wraps at this time, but it is known that the Expendables actor will be playing himself in “the role of a lifetime.” The budget for the movie is around $80 million, and it is expected to receive a PG-13 rating. No other casting beyond Statham has been announced.
Leitch, who previously worked with Statham on Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, is directing the movie. Leitch was an uncredited director on 2014’s John Wick who then also went on to make 2017’s Atomic Blonde, 2018’s Deadpool 2, 2022’s Bullet Train, and 2024’s The Fall Guy. He has a new movie titled How to Rob a Bank — which stars Nicholas Hoult, Anna Sawai, Pete Davidson, Zoë Kravitz, Rhenzy Feliz, John C. Reilly, and Christian Slater — that is currently dated for September 4, 2026, by Amazon MGM Studios.
Production on Jason Statham Stole My Bike is scheduled to begin this May. The script comes from Alison Flierl, while Leitch and Kelly McCormick are producing for 87 North. Other producers include Statham for Punch Palace Productions, John Friedberg for Black Bear, and Meredith Berg and Ethan Erwin for Beryllium Entertainment.
Jason Statham Stole My Bike does not yet have a release date.
