Halle Berry Wants To Bring Back a Surprising Role Besides Storm

Halle Berry addressed one of her most unexpected character choices while promoting her latest film, Crime 101. The Oscar-winning actor revealed her interest in revisiting a surprising early role from her career and also responded to questions about a potential return as Storm in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Halle Berry would like to revisit Crack Hoe Viv

Halle Berry recently revealed interest in returning to a role fans might not expect: Crack Hoe Viv from Jungle Fever. During a CBR interview with Rachel Leishman, Berry stated, “I would love to see, just for s–ts and giggles, a character I played called Viv the Crack Hoe go to the future. I would love to see how she would navigate that world.” The character, originally from Spike Lee’s 1991 film Jungle Fever, marked Berry’s film debut.

Berry made these comments during a promotional interview for Crime 101, where she stars alongside Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, and Barry Keoghan. The film, directed by Bart Layton, premieres February 13, 2026, and features a storyline centered on a thief and detective entangled in a complex chase.

The cast includes actors known for major franchise roles, prompting alternate universe (AU) discussions during the interview. When Hemsworth was asked about AUs, he referenced his Ghostbusters character Kevin, saying, “An icon. Not the most intelligent guy, but he had a good heart… that’d be fun to mash him into this universe.”

Berry’s unexpected mention of Crack Hoe Viv stands in contrast to her response about a possible return as Storm in Avengers: Doomsday. When asked during a BBC Radio 1Xtra interview, she initially laughed and said, “Yeah, I would love to. But, you know…” and later added, “No. No.” However, she clarified, “First of all, I love Storm… She’s a beloved character, and she’s one of my favorites… I would come back for sure.”

Jungle Fever depicts a controversial interracial relationship and included Berry in a small but memorable role. For the film’s 30th anniversary in 2021, Berry shared on Instagram, “Crack Hoe Viv was my very first movie role and one of my absolute favorite roles to this day.”
