Spider-Man 4: Here’s Who Severance’s Tramell Tillman Is Playing in the MCU Movie

Tramell Tillman’s mystery character in Spider-Man 4 has been revealed.

Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man 4, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, arrives in United States theaters this summer. Directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ Destin Daniel Cretton, the movie will once again see Tom Holland reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

Tillman, known for playing Seth Michick in Apple TV’s popular Severance show, officially joined the cast of Brand New Day last August. There’s been no word regarding who he’s playing up until now, though many have speculated that he’ll portray a villain involved with the Department of Damage Control (DODC).

Who is Tramell Tillman playing in Spider-Man 4?

Per Nexus Point News, an outlet that is reliable when it comes to breaking big scoops, Tillman will be playing X-Men villain William Metzger in Spider-Man 4.

The article reads, “Metzger will serve as the leader of Damage Control in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will be an anti-mutant character. Sources tell Nexus Point News that Tillman signed a multi-picture deal which potentially includes Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men films.”

This lines up with the aforementioned rumors about where the MCU is headed in relation to the X-Men. While nobody was certain who Tillman was specifically playing up until now, it’s been highly suggested that the DODC will have an increasingly antagonistic presence in Marvel projects (Wonder Man being a recent example) until it then becomes a full-blown anti-mutant organization that will likely have ties to the creation of the Sentinels.

Created by Joe Casey and Steve Rude, the William Metzger character didn’t have a huge presence in Marvel Comics. He only appeared in the X-Men: Children of the Atom six-issue miniseries that debuted in 1999, where he was portrayed as the leader of an anti-mutant militia; however, he was also killed by Magneto at the end of that story.

Spider-Man 4 arrives on July 31, 2026.
