Bones and All is leaving Netflix this month

The 2022 horror movie Bones and All, starring Timothée Chalamet, will leave Netflix on February 27, 2026, per Tudum.

It is based on Camille DeAngelis’s haunting novel of the same name. Set in the backdrop of the late ‘80s, the story follows Maren Yearly (Taylor Russell), a teenager with a compulsive hunger for human flesh.

Following a gruesome incident, Maren’s father abandons her, leaving behind clues about her mother. During her journey to seek her biological mother, Maren meets Lee (Chalamet), who shares similar cannibalistic tendencies. The two form an intense relationship during their road trip across the United States.

Bones and All premiered at the 79th Venice International Film Festival on September 2, 2022. Later, it debuted in cinemas on November 18, 2022. Following its release, the movie was well-received, with praise for several aspects of the story. Currently, it has 82% Tomatometer score and 63% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Directed by Luca Guadagnino, this is the second time that the Oscar-winning director has worked with Chalamet. They previously collaborated on the 2017 coming-of-age movie, Call Me by Your Name. In fact, David Kajganich, who wrote the film’s screenplay, revealed that Guadagnino agreed to take on the movie only “if Timothée Chalamet does it” (via Script Magazine).

The movie was released independently under Theresa Park’s production company, Per Capita Productions. It also features a soundtrack by Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer distributed the movie in the United States, while Warner Bros. Pictures handled international distribution. During its theatrical run, Bones and All earned $15.2 million at the box office. Furthermore, it received several award nominations under the Independent Film category.
