Daredevil’s Vincent D’Onofrio on if Kingpin Is in Spider-Man 4
Vincent D’Onofrio has addressed whether or not Kingpin will ever show up in a Spider-Man movie.
D’Onofrio plays Kingpin/Wilson Fisk in Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Born Again. Before that, D’Onofrio was part of the cast of the original Daredevil Netflix show, while the character additionally showed up in 2021’s Hawkeye and 2024’s Echo.
What did Vincent D’Onofrio say about Kingpin and Spider-Man?
Given that Kingpin was originally introduced as an adversary to Spider-Man in Marvel Comics and has a long history with the superhero, many have wondered if D’Onofrio will ever appear in an MCU Spider-Man movie — potentially Spider-Man 4, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which arrives this summer.
However, appearing on The Playlist’s Bingeworthy TV podcast, D’Onofrio confirmed that Kingpin will not be showing up in Brand New Day.
“I think I’ll just wait until they have the rights to my character and they put me in one of those movies, and then I’ll figure it all out,” he commented.
D’Onofrio has expanded on this topic before. He told Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast last year, “The only thing I know is not positive. It’s a very hard thing to do, to use my character — for Marvel to use my character. It’s a very hard thing to do because of ownership. I think, right now, I’m only usable for television series. That kind of a thing. Different kinds of series, whatever it is, but not even like a one-off Fisk movie or anything like that. It’s all caught up in rights and stuff right now. I don’t know when that would work out, or if it’ll ever work out at all, actually.”
Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will premiere on Disney+ on March 24, 2026. Spider-Man: Brand New Day, meanwhile, is dated for July 31, 2026.
