Natalia Dyer Joins Star-Studded Movie in First Role Since Stranger Things Ends

Following the series finale of Stranger Things, Nancy Wheeler actress Natalia Dyer has officially signed on to her next major project in the form of a romantic comedy movie from Amazon MGM Studios.

Per Deadline, Dyer will be joining the cast of Goodbye Girl, which will be led by previously announced leading stars Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and Cole Sprouse (Riverdale). Further details about Dyer’s character are still under wraps. This marks her first movie project in a long while, after 2023’s horror movie All Fun and Games.

What do we know about Natalia Dyer’s new movie?

“The film follows Jess (Shipka), who’s a professional heartbreaker. Literally. When she’s hired by a cowardly bride to dump her groom (Sprouse) days before their wedding, she not only fumbles the job… but falls hopelessly in love,” reads the official synopsis.

Goodbye Girl will be directed by Oran Zegman, with Danielle Hoover and David Monahan writing the screenplay based on a story by Hoover, Monahan, and Jessica Elbaum. Producers are Mike Karz and William Bindley of Gulfstream Pictures, along with Dawn Bierschwal & Ryan Lewis of The RAD Lab and Daniel Wagner. Production is expected to begin this week in New Orleans.

“Goodbye Girl is exactly the kind of elevated, character-driven romantic comedy we love to champion at Gulfstream,” Karz and Bindley said in a previous statement when the project was first announced. “Kiernan and Cole bring incredible charm, wit, and emotional honesty to these roles, and Oran has such a fresh, confident voice as a director. This film is smart, funny, and heartfelt, and we are excited to be working with Dawn and Ryan and the rest of our stellar creative team.”
