Masters of the Universe offers new look at Nicholas Galitzine’s He-Man and Alison Brie’s Evil-Lyn
Entertainment-focused social media accounts shared new images of Nicholas Galitzine and Alison Brie in Masters of the Universe on February 6, 2026. Galitzine appears as He-Man, wielding the Power Sword and wearing the character’s classic minimal armor. Brie shows up in full costume as Evil-Lyn, complete with her purple headdress and cosmic orb.
Travis Knight directs the film, which Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel will release in theaters on June 5, 2026. Knight explained the film embraces the original franchise’s tone. “There’s an inherent silliness to it, which we are acknowledging and embracing,” Knight told Empire. “I think it’s a virtue, actually. And it’s woven into the script to help some of these things make sense to a modern audience.”
Nicholas Galitzine takes on the role of Prince Adam / He-Man, while Alison Brie plays Evil-Lyn. Camila Mendes joins as Teela, Idris Elba appears as Duncan / Man-At-Arms, and Jared Leto portrays Skeletor. James Purefoy plays King Randor, Morena Baccarin appears as the Sorceress, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson takes on the role of Fisto, Charlotte Riley plays Queen Marlena, and Kristen Wiig portrays Roboto.
Mattel launched Masters of the Universe in 1982 as a toy line, then followed with the animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe from 1983 to 1985. The franchise expanded into comics, video games, and a 1987 live-action film.
The 2026 live-action reboot follows Prince Adam as he returns to Eternia after 15 years apart from the Power Sword and discovers Skeletor has taken control of his home world.
