Chris Hemsworth Shares Unsurprising Reaction to Avengers: Doomsday Teaser
The first Avengers: Doomsday teaser, confirming Chris Evans‘ return as Steve Rogers, not only sparked speculation about his role in the film but also elicited a number of reactions. In a recent interview, Thor actor Chris Hemsworth also shared his reaction to the Steve Rogers footage.
Chris Hemsworth thought Steve Rogers’ Avengers: Doomsday teaser ‘was pretty cool’
While speaking with GamesRadar+, Chris Hemsworth praised the Steve Rogers trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, which first played in theaters before Avatar: Fire and Ash screenings before being released online on December 23, 2025.
“I thought it was pretty cool when [Chris] Evans comes up on the motorbike,” the Extraction star shared. “And because no one knew he was going to be in the film, and then there he is.”
Hemsworth continued, “I just thought it was cool. And he had a baby in real life and in Marvel life.” Notably, Chris Evans and his wife, Warrior Nun star Alba Baptista, welcomed a daughter, Alma Grace, in October 2025 (via TMZ).
Both the Steve Rogers and Thor trailers have a common theme: fatherhood. While the former briefly touches upon the theme by showing Rogers cradling his newborn child with Peggy Carter, the latter makes it the footage’s defining element.
In the Thor teaser, Hemsworth’s God of Thunder notes how fate has made him a father to Love, played in Thor Love and Thunder by Hemsworth’s real-life daughter India Rose. Thor prays to his father, Odin, to grant him strength in the fight against Doctor Doom so he can survive and return home to his adopted daughter not as a “warrior” but as “warmth” and teach her “stillness” — the kind he was long unfamiliar with — instead of “battle.”
Avengers: Doomsday premieres in theaters on December 18, 2026. Anthony and Joe Russo direct the film, marking their return to the MCU seven years after their last directorial effort within the ever-expanding cinematic universe, Avengers: Endgame. The Russos also co-produced the film with Marvel Studios via their production company AGBO. Meanwhile, Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron co-wrote the film’s screenplay.
