Bushido Trailer Previews Intense Samurai Revenge Movie | Exclusive

ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive trailer for Bushido, an upcoming Japanese revenge thriller from Film Movement. The samurai movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on March 13, 2026.

“Taciturn Kakunoshin, renowned for his formidable skills both with a sword and in the game of go, embodies the purest ideals of the samurai code. But when his unwavering honesty is exploited, he is framed by his own clan for a theft he did not commit,” reads the official synopsis. “Disgraced and forced to become a ronin, he survives as a humble seal maker, quietly supporting his grown daughter while burying the wounds of betrayal. Years later, when a case of missing gold pulls him into a new web of intrigue, Kakunoshin finally uncovers the truth behind his long-buried downfall. With the real culprit exposed, the restraint that once defined him shatters. The go board flips, and a hellstorm of righteous vengeance follows.”

What happens in the Bushido trailer?

The video introduces Kakunoshin, a samurai who becomes a ronin after being accused of a crime he didn’t commit. When he finally learns about the truth behind his downfall, he decides to take revenge against the clan that betrayed him. The trailer also offers a glimpse at some of the movie’s thrilling fighting sequences.

Bushido is directed by Kazuya Shiraishi, with Masato Kato writing the screenplay, based on a classic rakugo work. This marks the acclaimed filmmaker’s first venture into the period drama genre. The ensemble cast includes Masachika Ichimura, Kaya Kiyohara, Kyôko Koizumi, Jun Kunimura, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, Taishi Nakagawa, Eita Okuno, Takuma Otoo, and Takumi Saitô. The movie is produced by Satoshi Akagi and Yukiko Tanigawa, with Jun Fukumoto serving as its cinematographer.
