Alan Ritchson Stars in Netflix Sci-Fi Action Movie War Machine Trailer
Netflix has shared the official trailer for War Machine, the upcoming sci-fi action movie, starring Alan Ritchson (Reacher) in his first major collaboration with the streamer as the lead. The movie is slated to premiere on March 6, 2026.
“During the final stage of US Army Ranger selection, an elite team’s training exercise turns into a fight for survival against an unimaginable threat,” reads the movie’s official synopsis.

What happens in the War Machine trailer?
The video introduces Ritchson as a soldier training hard to become part of the US Army Rangers. In the middle of training, he and his team encounter an unexpected enemy in the form of a deadly extraterrestrial machine programmed to hunt them down. The trailer highlights some of the movie’s thrilling action-packed sequences.
The movie is directed by Patrick Hughes, who also co-wrote the screenplay with James Beaufort. Joining Ritchson in the action movie are Dennis Quaid (Vantage Point), Stephan James (If Beale Street Could Talk), Jai Courtney (Suicide Squad), Esai Morales (Bad Boys), Blake Richardson, Keiynan Lonsdale (The Flash), and Daniel Webber.
Hidden Pictures’ Todd Lieberman and Alexander Young are producing, along with Patrick Hughes and Greg McLean for HUGE FILM, and Rich Cook for Range. Valerie Bleth Sharp is also serving as an executive producer. The creative team includes cinematographer Aaron Morton, editor Andy Canny, composer Dmitri Golovko, production designer Enzo Iacono, costume designer Cappi Ireland, and set decorator Emma Rudkin.
Besides War Machine, Ritchson will next be seen starring opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in Amazon MGM Studios’ action comedy The Man with the Bag. In addition, Ritchson is also currently attached to lead the action thriller Runner with Owen Wilson.
