Underrated Kate Winslet & Ralph Fiennes Movie Arrives on Paramount+ Today

An underrated movie starring Kate Winslet and Ralph Fiennes is now available to stream on Paramount+.

Winslet is perhaps best known for playing Rose DeWitt Bukater in James Cameron’s Titanic, which was released in 1997. She’s been nominated for the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress Academy Awards numerous times throughout her career, while she just recently made her feature film directorial debut in 2025’s Goodbye June.

Fiennes, meanwhile, has earned Academy Award nominations for his performance in 1993’s Schindler’s List, 1996’s The English Patient, and 2024’s Conclave. He can now be seen in Nia DaCosta’s 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, which is playing in United States theaters, and has been cast as Coriolanus Snow in the forthcoming The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping movie.

What Kate Winslet and Ralph Fiennes movie is now streaming on Paramount+?

The Reader, a 2008 romantic drama movie directed by Stephen Daldry, is now available to stream on Paramount+.

A description of the movie reads, “As Germany rebuilds itself in the wake of World War II, teenager Michael Berg meets Hanna Schmitz, a bus conductor, several years his senior. Their relationship is passionate. When Hanna abruptly moves away without informing him, Michael is heartbroken. Years later, while studying law at Heidelberg University, he is appalled to discover that Hanna is on trial for a brutal Nazi war crime.”

Winslet won the Best Actress Academy Award for her performance in The Reader, while the movie was also nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Cinematography. The movie is based on a 1995 German novel titled Der Vorleser by Bernhard Schlink, with the screenplay coming from David Hare.

In addition to Winslet and Fiennes, The Readers’ cast includes David Kross, Bruno Ganz, Alexandra Maria Lara, and Lena Olin.
