Avengers: Doomsday ‘Spoiler’ Posted by Wonder Man’s Josh Gad
The first four trailers for Avengers: Doomsday confirmed some of the MCU characters returning in the highly anticipated film. This prompted a slew-load of joke posts about what other characters might appear in the movie. Now, actor Josh Gad has joined them with his own “spoiler” regarding his recent role in Wonder Man.
What did Josh Gad post about Avengers: Doomsday?
Josh Gad played himself in Wonder Man Episode 4, “Doorman.” The episode centered around DeMarr Davis; a night club bouncer who acquired the superpower to turn himself into a living portal. Unfortunately, the power had a limited range to the other side of solid objects Davis was touching. In essence, he was a living door. Limited as this was, however, Davis still made a name for himself, saving his club’s patrons from a fire after the doors became stuck shut.

The fictional Josh Gad was a regular at the club, who offered the newly dubbed Doorman a job as part of his entourage. He later helped Davis break into show business, using his powers as a unique gimmick for a series of heist movies. Unfortunately, this backfired after Gad became lost jumping through Davis. This led to Davis being seized for experimentation and the creation of a “Doorman Clause” that forbid superpowered people being employed in Hollywood. The fate of the MCU Josh Gad at the end of Wonder Man Season 1 was unclear.
However, Josh Gad teased the fate of his MCU alter ego with a post on Instagram. An animated graphic promised that “Josh Gad Will Return in Avengers: Doomsday.” This was in clear imitation of the trailers promising that Steve Rogers, Thor, the X-Men, the Wakandans, and the Fantastic Four would also return in the upcoming movie.
How Josh Gad’s Wonder Man role could (but probably won’t) lead into Avengers: Doomsday
It is possible that Josh Gad is telling the truth about appearing in Avengers: Doomsday. However, the joke might be few would believe the comedic actor might appear in a superhero action movie. However, there is one reason to believe Gad is just joking about his MCU variant appearing in the next Avengers movie.

Wonder Man showrunner Andrew Guest confirmed, in an earlier interview, that the MCU Josh Gad is alive and inside Doorman. Guest promised that they would deal with the fictional Gad’s fate if Wonder Man got a second season. He also suggested that the MCU Josh Gad might acquire the same powers as DeMarr Davis. While this would be interesting, it is not likely to occur as part of Avengers: Doomsday.
