Netflix Adds 2025’s Most Divisive Horror Movie Sequel

Netflix subscribers can now watch the 2025 sequel to Blumhouse‘s popular sci-fi horror movie, which received mixed reviews from critics. Unlike the first installment’s Certified Fresh score, the sequel failed to receive a high approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It currently holds a Tomatometer rating of 57%, based on 244 reviews.

Which horror movie sequel is now streaming on Netflix?

From Blumhouse and Universal Pictures, M3GAN 2.0 is now finally available to stream on Netflix, nearly seven months after it was first released in theaters. The sequel stars Allison Williams, Jenna Davis, Violet McGraw, Ivanna Sakhno, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Jen Van Epps, Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp, and Jemaine Clement.

“When an autonomous android engineered to be the ultimate weapon threatens M3GAN’s beloved Cady, M3GAN convinces her creator, Gemma, to give her a glow-up that makes the original A.I. diva even deadlier. Armed with wild new upgrades and her same iconic attitude, M3GAN claps back against the wannabe techno-terror in a fierce faceoff to crown the baddest bot built for maximum mayhem,” reads the official synopsis.

The movie was written and directed by returning filmmaker Gerard Johnstone from a story by Johnstone and Akela Cooper, based on characters created by Cooper and James Wan. It was produced by Wan, Williams, and Jason Blum, with Judson Scott, Mark David Katchur, Michael Clear, Adam Hendricks, Greg Gilreath, and Gerard Johnstone serving as executive producers. During its theatrical run, the film earned a worldwide gross of over $39 million at the box office against a reported budget of around $15-25 million.
