GOTG’s Chris Pratt Has a ‘F—ing Great’ Idea for Star-Lord’s MCU Return
Chris Pratt says he has a f—ing great idea for Star-Lord’s potential return to the MCU, and that he’s already pitched it to Kevin Feige.
Pratt has played Peter Quill/Star-Lord in the MCU since 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Following that James Gunn-directed Marvel movie, Pratt’s character went on to appear in 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder, 2022’s The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, and 2023’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
While Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 ends with Peter leaving the Guardians so that he can return to Earth, many have been wondering if and when Star-Lord will show up in the MCU next. As of now, he’s not been confirmed to be part of the cast for Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars, and no other Guardians of the Galaxy-related projects have yet been announced.
What did Chris Pratt say about Star-Lord’s MCU return?
Speaking with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, via Variety, Pratt opened up about Star-Lord’s MCU future.
“I’m happy to do anything they want me to do and will,” he said. “And also, I personally have a really strong vision of what I would want him to do. And I think it’s f—ing great.”
When asked if he’s already pitched this idea to Marvel Studios‘ Feige, Pratt said, “Yep. And I think that, you know, I’m down to contribute any way I can to them setting up the next 10 years of storytelling, you know? And also, I have a pretty strong idea of how I think I could contribute to that.”
Pratt also addressed a potential Star-Lord solo movie, saying he’d love to see Gunn direct it “in a dream world.” Given that Gunn is now running DC Studios with Peter Safran, however, Pratt admitted that’s not “likely to happen.”
“So I’d have to think about who would be the right director,” he said. “There are amazing directors out there.”
