Melania Trump Movie Looking To Bomb at Box Office
The upcoming Melania Trump movie is not projected to do well at the box office ahead of its release later this month.
What are the Melania Trump movie projections?
According to a new report from journalist Rob Shuter in his Naughty But Nice substack, the upcoming Melania documentary is facing small ticket turnout. Shuter notes that a source says that “only a handful of seats” have been booked in New York, with theaters “practically empty.”
“In New York, only a handful of seats have been booked,” the source notes. “Palm Beach is no better. Even in Trump country, theaters are practically empty.”
Shuter went on to note that another source said that a bigger turnout was anticipating, but is “not materializing,” and that while people might be curious, “they’re not rushing to buy tickets yet,” said a source to Shuter.
Melania is set to have its premiere on January 30, 2026, and will premiere at the Kennedy Center before having a theatrical release. The film will also be streaming on Prime Video following its release as well, although no official streaming release has been set for the movie.
“Melania offers unprecedented access to the 20 days leading up to the 2025 Presidential Inauguration — through the eyes of the First Lady herself,” the official synopsis reads. “Step inside Melania Trump’s world as she orchestrates inauguration plans, navigates the complexities of the White House transition, and moves her family back to the Nation’s Capital.”
Melania is directed by Brett Ratner, a controversial director who was accused of sexual assault years ago. Melania is Ratner’s first directed movie since 2014’s Hercules.
