Timothée Chalamet, Emma Stone, & More Break Oscars Records With 2026 Noms
Several actors and creatives, including Timothée Chalamet and Emma Stone, have broken records with the 2026 Oscar nominations.
For his work in Marty Supreme, Chalamet received Oscar nominations for Best Actor and Best Picture. Chalamet, 30, is the youngest actor to receive three acting nominations since Marlon Brando in 1954. Chalamet is also the youngest actor to be nominated for producing and acting in the same year.
With a win for Best Actor, he would become the second-youngest winner in the category’s history. At 29 years old, Adrien Brody is the only male under 30 to win the Oscar for Best Actor.
Like Chalamet, Stone is a double nominee this year for Bugonia. Stone received nominations for Best Actress and Best Picture. At 37, Stone is now the youngest woman to garner seven Oscar nominations, breaking the record previously held by Meryl Streep, who was 38 when it happened.
Stone is a two-time Oscar-winning actress, with victories for her performances in La La Land and Poor Things. With a win for Bugonia, Stone would tie Frances McDormand for the second-most wins (3) for Best Actress. Katharine Hepburn holds the record with four.
Who else broke Oscar records with 2026 nominations besides Timothée Chalamet & Emma Stone?
Sinners became the most-nominated film in history with 16 nominations, breaking the record of 14 previously held by All About Eve, Titanic, and La La Land.
One of Sinners’ nominations went to Ruth Carter for Best Costume Design. This is Carter’s fifth Oscar nomination, the most for a Black woman across all categories in Academy Awards history.
Wagner Moura received his first Oscar nomination for Best Actor in The Secret Agent. With the nomination, the 49-year-old becomes the first Brazilian actor to be nominated for the Best Actor Oscar.
The 2026 Oscars is scheduled for March 15, 2026.
