Masters of the Universe Trailer Readies He-Man Fans for Nicholas Galitzine Movie

The first trailer for the Masters of the Universe movie has been released.

Masters of the Universe comes from director Travis Knight. Based on the iconic multimedia franchise that originated in the 1980s, the new live-action movie stars Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Duncan/Mat-At-Arms, and Jared Leto as Skeletor. It will be released in United States theaters this June by Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Studios.

What happens in the Masters of the Universe trailer?

The Masters of the Universe trailer sees Knight, per the official synopsis, “bring the legendary franchise back to the big screen in this epic live-action adventure.”

It continues, “After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) back to Eternia, where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor (Jared Leto). To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe.”

The cast of the movie also includes Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Charlotte Riley, and Kristen Wiig as the voice of Roboto.

The screenplay for Masters of the Universe comes from Chris Butler, Aaron Nee, Adam Nee, and Dave Callaham, based on a story by Aaron Nee, Adam Nee, Alex Litvak, and Michael Finch. Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Robbie Brenner, Steve Tisch, and DeVon Franklin serve as producers, while Ynon Kreiz, Bill Bannerman, and David Bloomfield are executive producers.

Knight’s previous filmography as a director includes 2016’s Kubo and the Two Strings, and 2018’s Bumblebee, while he also made a new movie called Wildwood, which will be released this coming October.

Masters of the Universe will be released in United States theaters on June 5, 2026.
