Kenan & Kel Reunite for Horror Comedy Movie 7 Decades in the Making
Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell addressed a long-awaited reunion as they prepare to star in a new horror comedy nearly seven decades in the making. The longtime duo shared first details about the project during a recent appearance. They teased a fresh spin on a classic story.

KKenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell announced their reunion for the horror comedy Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein on Prime Video’s Good Sports. Thompson’s company, Artists for Artists, is co-producing the film with Range Media Partners. Production begins in summer 2026.
The film takes inspiration from the classic Abbott and Costello monster series. It follows two delivery drivers who arrive at a strange castle during a routine drop-off. There, they accidentally awaken Frankenstein’s monster and must fight to survive. Jonah Feingold (31 Candles, At Midnight) is writing the script.
Thompson and Mitchell are producing the film with John Ryan Jr., Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Carter Swan. Will Hariton, Azim Spicer, and Monica Weber serve as executive producers. Range Media manages sales.
Thompson stated, “Kel and I have always loved finding new ways to work together, and this project felt like the perfect mix of nostalgia, comedy, and something completely unexpected. We’re excited to bring a fresh take on a classic monster story and have some fun doing it.” Mitchell said, “Coming back together always feels natural, and this lets us tap into everything people love about our dynamic while trying something totally new. It’s funny, it’s scary, and it’s a great ride” (via The Hollywood Reporter).
Thompson and Mitchell, who starred in Nickelodeon’s Kenan & Kel (1996–2000) and Good Burger (1997), most recently reunited for Good Burger 2 (2023). Mitchell announced the new project during Good Sports, where he filled in for Kevin Hart.
Range Media Partners represents Thompson and John Ryan Jr. Innovative Artists, Untitled Entertainment, and Mark S. Temple represent Mitchell. UTA, Untitled, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole represent Feingold.
