Madelyn Cline Joins New Glen Powell Movie From Comedy Legend
Madelyn Cline is joining Glen Powell’s next movie, a comedy from legendary director Judd Apatow that already boasts a star-studded cast.
What do we know about Glen Powell’s new movie?
Cline joins a cast featuring both Powell and The Penguin star Cristin Milioti. The movie, which little is known about as of now, is said to star a country-western star (Powell) in “free-fall” and will release on February 5, 2027.
Alongside starring, Powell will also be co-writing the screenplay alongside Apatow, who will direct the project. The studio is treating the project as a priority release. However, production was unable to move forward this spring due to Powell’s busy schedule. Apatow is producing through his Apatow Productions banner as part of his long-running deal with Universal.
Powell and Dan Cohen are producing under Barnstorm’s first-look arrangement, alongside Kevin Misher of Misher Films. The project is being overseen at the studio level by Universal Senior EVP of Production Development Erik Baiers and Director of Production Development Jacqueline Garell.
Cline is best known for her roles on the Netflix teen drama series Outer Banks and has also appeared in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, as well as 2025’s I Know What You Did Last Summer. She’ll next star in the upcoming action thriller Day Drinker, which is directed by Marc Webb and stars Johnny Depp, Penélope Cruz, Manu Ríos, Arón Piper, Juan Diego Botto, and Anika Boyle.
