Markiplier’s Iron Lung Movie Has a Monstrous Popcorn Bucket
As Markiplier’s long-awaited horror film Iron Lung inches closer to its theatrical debut, fans are getting a taste of more than just on-screen terror. New details have surfaced, revealing a striking, monster-themed popcorn bucket designed exclusively for theaters.
Markiplier’s Iron Lung movie’s popcorn bucket revealed
The collectible popcorn bucket is tied to Iron Lung’s theatrical rollout and follows the trend of novelty containers tied to major releases. Unlike Markiplier’s previous narrative project, The Edge of Sleep, which is a series and did not receive a theatrical run, Iron Lung is making its big-screen debut with full cinema flair, including exclusive merchandise.
Markiplier recently revealed the popcorn bucket on YouTube, giving fans a close look at its unsettling design. The container appears modeled after the film’s central creature, with a wide, gaping mouth that seemingly doubles as the opening for popcorn. The monster design features sharp, uneven teeth and what looks like blood spilling from its jaws, echoing the film’s aquatic horror aesthetic.
During the episode of Go! My Favorite Sports Team, fans got to see a detailed 3D model on screen. The rendering allowed viewers to examine the bucket from every angle, including the front, sides, and back. The creature resembles an anglerfish-like monster, reinforcing the movie’s deep-sea nightmare imagery.
A visible logo on the model confirms that the popcorn bucket will be exclusive to Regal Cinemas. Additional sneak peek shared on the Distractible Podcast showed the finalized version, featuring its vivid red color scheme and the Iron Lung title printed along the bottom edge.
The popcorn bucket will be available when Iron Lung hits theaters on Friday, January 30. The upcoming movie is a major milestone for Markiplier and his creative team. After stepping into scripted storytelling with The Edge of Sleep in October 2024, the YouTuber now ventures into feature filmmaking with a full theatrical release. The film adapts the cult-favorite Iron Lung video game, known for its bleak post-apocalyptic setting and suffocating atmosphere.
