HBO Max Update Is Great News for Fans of A24 Movies
A new HBO Max update is good news for fans of the A24 movies.
A24 and Warner Bros. Discovery initially made a licensing deal for HBO and HBO Max in December 2023. The deal gives A24 movies such as Eddington, Warfare, and more a streaming home at HBO Max.
What is the HBO Max update on A24 movies?
HBO Max and A24 have renewed their multi-year partnership that will bring A24 films exclusively to HBO and HBO Max in the United States. The deal is good for the Pay-1 window, meaning that HBO Max subscribers will have access to dozens upon dozens of A24 movies when they first become available to stream.
“A24 has been an incredible partner, bringing a slate of talented creative voices and an engaged audience base to the platform,” said Executive Vice President of Global Content Acquisitions Royce Battleman. “Their bold storytelling perfectly complements the distinct programming offered on HBO Max.”
As noted in a press release, “The renewal follows a successful initial run, with half of A24’s Pay-1 titles ranking among HBO Max’s top 10 movies within their first two weeks on the service in 2025. Driven by a dedicated fanbase, nearly 70% of HBO Max viewers who watched an A24 film returned for more, watching an average of four titles from the studio.”
Some upcoming A24 movies that will be available to stream on the HBO Max platform when they’re released onto streaming include The Backrooms starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Renate Reinsve, and Mark Duplass; The Death of Robin Hood starring Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer; The Drama starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson; Enemies starring Jeremy Allen White and Austin Butler; How to Make a Killing starring Glen Powell; Marty Supereme starring Timothée Chalamet, Odessa A’zion, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Tyler Okonma; The Moment starring Charli XCX, Pillion starring Alexander Skarsgård and Harry Melling; and Primetime starring Robert Pattinson.
