DCU’s Batman Movie Gets New Details in Exciting Report
A new update on the status of DC’s Batman: Brave and the Bold movie suggests that the first entry of DC Universe’s Batman has found a release date window.
What are the latest Brave and the Bold details?
According to a new report from Dread Central, the new DCU Batman movie is on track for a 2028 release date window. The report notes that the screenplay for Andy Muschietti’s movie is “finished” and that the movie is now targeting 2028 for a release date.
Should this release date hold up, it would present a bit of an interesting release problem for DC Studios. The Batman 2, Matt Reeves’ upcoming highly anticipated sequel to 2022’s The Batman, is expected to release on October 1, 2027. Should that film also release then, it would mean that DC would have two Batman films coming out within a year of each other, one of which is not connected to the DCU at all.
While James Gunn has previously said that his focus now is on helping Reeves and The Batman 2 release, it will be interesting to follow as we get closer to both films’ potential release dates. Of course, the Brave and the Bold’s release is not confirmed as of yet, so we’ll have to wait for more information to come forward on it.
Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios’ The Brave and the Bold is being directed by Andy Muschietti, who previously made 2023’s The Flash. The project was initially announced in 2023, shortly after James Gunn and Peter Safran became co-CEOs and co-chairmen of DC Studios. However, there haven’t been many significant updates or announcements regarding The Brave and the Bold since then.
