X-Men’s Most Underrated Hero Wants To Return to MCU

2026’s Avengers: Doomsday is bringing back several Marvel characters, including a host of MCU mainstays, as well as numerous X-Men heroes of the 20th Century Fox era. As such, Evan Peters is one such fan-favorite cast member of the X-Men franchise who has come out to express his interest in returning to the MCU setup as Quicksilver, especially in the wake of Sir Ian McKellen’s return as Magneto in the upcoming Avengers sequel.

Evan Peters says he ‘would absolutely love to’ play Quicksilver again

In a recent interview, the Kick-Ass star, who portrayed the quirky mutant speedster Quicksilver in the Fox X-Men films, revealed his intentions to reprise the said role, now that the MCU’s Multiverse saga has tied every Marvel continuity into one.

Discussing his desire to explore the father-son dynamics between Quicksilver and Magneto on-screen, Evan Peters told MovieWeb, “I’d love to. I would absolutely love to. I think that would be incredibly fun to explore that character.”

The American Horror Story alum then remarked that he would like to see a more realistic take on Quicksilver this time around, provided that his return to the MCU actually materializes. “We could ground it more, too, just ground the old Quickie,” Peters exclaimed.

Notably, the 38-year-old actor made his debut as Marvel’s premier speedster in 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. He ended up embodying Quicksilver in a total of four movies, including a cameo in 2018’s Deadpool 2.

In all his appearances as the silver-haired superhero, barring the Deadpool sequel, Peters managed to share the screen with Michael Fassbender’s version of Magneto. However, the movies failed to touch upon the father-son dynamic between the characters.

Technically, Evan Peters’ Quicksilver has already made his MCU debut, doing so in the WandaVision series. However, the part saw Peters portray a Pietro Maximoff impersonator, rather than playing the real deal. Despite his popularity among fans, it remains unclear if his version of Quicksilver will ever return to the MCU.
