Netflix Adds Hit 2024 Music Biopic Today

Netflix is adding a popular 2024 music biographical film to its platform today, allowing fans to check out one of the latest films about one of music’s most iconic performers.

Beginning today, Bob Marley: One Love will be available on the streaming platform. The film, based on the life of iconic reggae singer and songwriter, Bob Marley, chronicles the rise of the legend in the mid-1970s, all the way to his death in 1981.

Bob Marley: One Love was directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, from a screenplay written by Terence Winter, Frank E. Flowers, Zach Baylin, and Green. The movie starred Kingsley Ben-Adir in the titular role, and also featured Lashana Lynch, James Norton, Tosin Cole, Aston Barrett Jr., Anthony Welsh, Hector Roots Lewis, Alexx A-Game, Abijah “Naki Wailer” Livingston, and more.

“Bob Marley: One Love celebrates the life and music of an icon who inspired generations through his message of love and unity,” reads the movie’s synopsis. “On the big screen for the first time, discover Bob’s powerful story of overcoming adversity and the journey behind his revolutionary music.”

Upon its release, Bob Marley: One Love received mixed reviews. The film garnered a 43% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite its so-so reception, the film did perform well at the box office, grossing over $180 million.
