Avengers: Doomsday’s Tom Hiddleston Reveals His Favorite Spider-Man
Loki star Tom Hiddleston has picked his favorite Spider-Man.
Hiddleston will reprise his role as Loki in Avengers: Doomsday, which will be released in United States theaters later this year by Marvel Studios. That movie will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027. Both films are directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers.
There’s been much speculation, although no confirmation, regarding whether or not Tom Holland’s Spider-Man — or any other Spider-Man, for that matter, as there have been rumors that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield could be reprising their roles as well — will be in Doomsday and/or Secret Wars. It is known, however, that Spider-Man 4, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will be released before both Avengers movies, as that is currently dated for July.

Speaking with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Hiddleston was asked if he has a favorite Spider-Man of all time.
“For reasons I cannot disclose, Tom Holland,” Hiddleston said after pausing to think about it for a moment.
It’s hard to tell whether or not this should be taken as a tease for Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars. It’s possible that Loki and Peter Parker/Spider-Man could share scenes in one or both of the MCU movies, though it’s also entirely possible that’s not the case and Hiddleston is just having some fun.
Avengers: Doomsday arrives on December 18, 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars is being released on December 17, 2027.
Marvel and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day, meanwhile, premieres on July 31, 2026. In addition to Holland, the cast of that movie includes Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, Marvin Jones III as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone, and more.
