Rob Lowe & Patrick Swayze 80s Movie Remake Gets Trailer & Poster
Well Go USA Entertainment has shared the official trailer and poster for Youngblood, its upcoming modern remake of Rob Lowe and Patrick Swayze‘s 1986 sports drama movie. It is scheduled to arrive in North American theaters on March 6.
“Raised on grit and hockey by his hardline father, Dean Youngblood leaves Detroit to join Canada’s Hamilton Mustangs. His elite skill turns heads, but his arrogance earns enemies and keeps him benched by a resentful coach. After a costly clash with rival goon Carl Racki, Dean finds guidance from team captain Sutton and unexpected love with the coach’s daughter. When Racki brutally injures Sutton, Dean faces a defining playoff showdown—and a choice between rage and maturity,” reads the movie’s official synopsis.

What happens in the Youngblood remake trailer?
The video introduces Ashton James (Boxcutter) as he plays hockey prodigy Dean Youngblood, who was played by Lowe in the original movie. He joins his first professional hockey team, where he finds himself at odds with his teammates and rival players due to his undeniable talent and arrogance. The trailer teases how he’ll handle the challenges that come with pursuing his dreams, as he must decide what kind of player he wants to be.
The Youngblood remake is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Hubert Davis, with Josh Epstein & Kyle Rideout, Seneca Aaron, and the late Charles Officer writing the screenplay.
