Tom Hiddleston Teases Loki in Avengers: Doomsday, Talks ‘Pinch Me’ Moment

Tom Hiddleston described his “pinch-me moment” that occurred on the set of Avengers: Doomsday.

What was Tom Hiddleston’s comments on Loki and Avengers: Doomsday?

In the final moments of Loki Season 2, Loki ascended to the throne, becoming the God of Stories who preserves the timelines and holds them together. Hiddleston will return as Loki in Avengers: Doomsday.

While speaking with Josh Horowitz for the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Hiddleston played coy when asked about Avengers: Doomsday, purposely withholding major plot details. Hiddleston confirmed his involvement in the movie before joking, “What happens next, you’ll have to wait and see.”

Without giving away specifics, Hiddleston revealed that he was able to explore things with Loki that he had never previously done with the character.

Hiddelston also discussed how Doomsday’s large ensemble led to the crew filming multiple scenes at once with different crews and actors. This led to a few surreal run-ins for Hiddleston with the other cast members.

“It was amazing to be in that ensemble,” Hiddleston added. “Sometimes, and no spoilers here, there were two units running, simply for economy. There would be a scene being shot on the first unit and another scene being shot on the second unit. Not the same actors. Sometimes, on the studio lot, you would cross paths with people and think, ‘This is a pinch-me moment!’”

Hiddleston is one of many familiar faces returning for Avengers: Doomsday. Notable actors returning include Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier/Professor X, Ian McKellen as Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto, and James Marsden as Scott Summers/Cyclops.

Robert Downey Jr. also returns to Marvel, but instead of playing Iron Man, he will portray the villainous Victor von Doom, aka Doctor Doom.

Avengers: Doomsday is directed by the Russo Brothers, who helmed the last two Avengers movies. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to open in theaters on December 18, 2026.
