Tom Hardy’s $506 Million Superhero Movie Sets Disney+ Streaming Date
Disney+ will soon start streaming Venom: Let There Be Carnage, a divisive superhero feature led by Tom Hardy. It is the second entry in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU) and serves as a sequel to 2018’s Venom. Following its release, the movie garnered mixed to positive responses from critics. However, it ultimately became a commercial success, making over $506 million at the global box office.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage begins streaming on Disney+ this month
Venom: Let There Be Carnage debuts on Disney+ on January 22, 2026. The movie was previously available on Starz.
Andy Serkis directed the movie from a script by Kelly Marcel. The cast includes Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock / Venom, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, Naomie Harris as Frances Barrison / Shriek, Reid Scott as Dan Lewis, Stephen Graham as Patrick Mulligan, Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady / Carnage, Peggy Lu as Mrs. Chen, and Sian Webber as Camille Pazzo. Additionally, Tom Holland and J. K. Simmons make uncredited cameos as Peter Parker / Spider-Man and J. Jonah Jameson, respectively.
The plot revolves around Eddie and the alien symbiote Venom as they face off against a dangerous serial killer empowered by a symbiote called Carnage. The movie had its world premiere in London on September 14, 2021, before debuting in the US on October 1, 2021.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage garnered a 58 percent Tomatometer score on the review-aggregating site Rotten Tomatoes, indicating moderately favorable reviews from critics. Moreover, it scored 83 percent on the Popcornmeter.
ComingSoon’s Jonathan Sim gave Venom: Let There Be Carnage a positive review. “This is a lean, mean action machine that delivers on the laughs and action we expect from a superhero film,” Sim wrote. “The mid-credits scene is one of the best we’ve seen from Marvel yet, and you cannot miss it. This is a ferociously fun movie with great performances and a nonstop sense of entertainment.”
Notably, for the third and final Venom movie, Venom: The Last Dance (2024), Kelly Marcel took over the directing duties.
