Jolie stars as Maxine, a filmmaker facing a series of life-altering events. The trailer reveals that her character is dealing with a divorce while also coming to terms with a breast cancer diagnosis, all as she works through a demanding phase of her career. The trailer moves between intimate moments and the high-intensity environment of the fashion world. It features Jolie speaking both English and French.
The trailer also introduces two other characters whose lives intersect with Maxine’s during Paris Fashion Week. Ada, played by Anyier Anei, is a young woman entering the fashion industry for the first time. Meanwhile, Angèle, portrayed by Ella Rumpf, works behind the scenes as a makeup artist.
Jolie has previously described the project as deeply “personal.” In a December 2025 interview with Time France, the actress said she felt an immediate connection to the character and praised Winocour’s approach to the subject. She explained, “Too often, films about women’s struggles — especially cancer — talk about endings and sadness, rarely about life. Alice has made a film about life, and that’s precisely why the sensitive subjects it addresses are handled with such delicacy.”
Couture also stars Louis Garrel and Garance Marillier. It is set for release in French theaters on February 18. Meanwhile, the U.S. release date has not yet been announced.
