Gal Gadot’s New Spy Movie Gets First Details, Official Title

The first details and official title for Paramount Pictures‘ upcoming spy movie led by Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot have been revealed. Based on the bestselling book series by Janet Evanovich, the project will officially be titled Recovery Agent.

What do we know about Gal Gadot’s new spy movie?

According to Deadline, the film adaptation of Evanovich’s Recovery Agent novel will be developed by Paramount Pictures, along with Carol Mendelsohn and Julie Weitz through their Carol Mendelsohn Productions banner. The book series was launched by Atria Books. It first started with 2022’s The Recovery Agent, followed by its sequel, The King’s Ransom, which was just published last November.

In addition to starring, Gadot has also signed on as a producer with partner Jaron Varsano for Pilot Wave. The Snow White star is no stranger to the spy genre, as she previously played one in Netflix’s 2023 movie Heart of Stone. Gadot was most recently seen in Julian Schnabel’s In the Hand of Dante movie with Jason Momoa and Oscar Isaac. Besides Recovery Agent, she will also star in the upcoming action thriller The Runner for Amazon MGM Studios.

The book synopsis reads, “Lost something? Gabriela Rose knows how to get it back. As a recovery agent, she’s hired by individuals and companies seeking lost treasures, stolen heirlooms, or missing assets of any kind. She’s reliable, cool under pressure, and well-trained in weapons of all types. But Gabriela’s latest job isn’t for some bamboozled billionaire, it’s for her own family, whose home is going to be wiped off the map if they can’t come up with a lot of money fast.

Inspired by an old family legend, Gabriela sets off for the jungles of Peru in pursuit of the Seal of Solomon and the lost treasure of Cortez. But this particular job comes with a huge problem attached to it—Gabriela’s ex-husband, Rafer. It’s Rafer who has the map that possibly points the way to the treasure, and he’s not about to let Gabriela find it without him.
