Zack Snyder Shares New Look at Next Movie

Zack Snyder, who has been sharing stills from his next movie, The Last Photograph, in recent months on social media, recently offered another glimpse into the upcoming drama thriller. Although the film does not have an official release date set as of writing, it wrapped production around two months ago after commencing in August 2025. The film, said to be Snyder’s passion project, will be headlined by Stuart Martin and Fra Fee, both of whom worked with the filmmaker on his Rebel Moon films.

Zack Snyder shared a monochrome photo of Stuart Martin’s character, Ethan Black, from his next movie, The Last Photograph, on Instagram. The image shows Black holding a sniper rifle and pointing it at something.

“@stuart_martin_ as Ethan Black in our new film The Last Photograph. Shot in Bogotá, Colombia with our incredible Colombian crew,” the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice filmmaker captioned the post.

Snyder had reportedly been developing The Last Photograph since the mid-2000s. Unfortunately, the rights expired, resulting in Gianni Nunnari negotiating a new deal to retain them. Notably, Christian Bale and Sean Penn were attached to the film in 2011, but exited the project (via The Hollywood Reporter).

The Watchmen director eventually got the green light for the film in August 2025 and began production not long after (via Deadline).

Filming took place in Iceland, Colombia, and Los Angeles between August and November 2025. Snyder confirmed that production wrapped on November 12, 2025, on Instagram with a short message, where he thanked the cast and crew for their work on the film.

Besides directing the film, Snyder also wrote the story, co-produced with his wife and production partner, Deborah Snyder, Gianni Nunnari, and Wesley Coller, and handled the cinematography. Meanwhile, Kurt Johnstad worked on the film’s screenplay, while Hans Zimmer, Omer Benyamin, and Steven Doar composed the film’s music.
