Frankenstein’s Mia Goth Reveals if a 2nd Movie Will Happen Amid Rumors
Mia Goth addressed growing speculation surrounding Frankenstein 2 during a recent appearance, responding to questions about the potential continuation of Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation. The actress revealed details about her discussion with the director and whether a second installment might happen.
Mia Goth weighs in on Bride of Frankenstein sequel rumors
At the Palm Springs Film Festival, Mia Goth addressed rumors about a Bride of Frankenstein sequel during an interview with Collider. When asked about the possibility, Goth said, “I did bring that up to him, and he said, ‘But Victor Frankenstein is dead.’” She acknowledged that this presents a significant challenge, adding, “That is an issue. That is definitely an issue overall.”
Goth also described her reaction after Guillermo del Toro cast her in two roles in Frankenstein. “When Guillermo del Toro calls you just with one role, that’s an honor, let alone with two,” she said. “I was totally beside myself, really and incredibly nervous and very excited, and the entire experience was just very, very special, wonderful, wonderful,” Goth added.
Del Toro’s Frankenstein has drawn strong critical attention and sparked discussions about possible future installments. Despite the speculation, del Toro crafted the film as a complete narrative. During a post-screening Q&A, he called making Frankenstein “the end of an era” for him, signaling no immediate plans for a continuation.
The film features Jacob Elordi as the Creature and Mia Goth as Elizabeth Harlander and Claire Frankenstein. The movie was released in limited theaters on October 17, 2025, with a runtime of 149 minutes, before coming out on Netflix. Viewers can stream Frankenstein on the platform. The production showcases detailed set design, practical creature effects, and an emotionally grounded performance from Elordi.
Frankenstein’s success has prompted interest in extending the story. While Guillermo del Toro has not announced a Frankenstein 2, Goth’s conversation with him reveals they have considered the idea, despite challenges like the death of Victor Frankenstein within the narrative.
