Popular Arnold Schwarzenegger Sequel Movie Arrives on Netflix Today
Universal Pictures’ epic action movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger has finally found a new streaming home. More than four decades after its initial theatrical run, Schwarzenegger’s Conan the Destroyer movie is now officially available to stream on Netflix.
What do we know about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Conan the Destroyer movie?
Conan the Destroyer serves as the sequel to 1982’s Conan the Barbarian. Richard Fleischer directed the sword-and-sorcery movie from a screenplay written by Stanley Mann. It was based on the character created by Robert E. Howard. The ensemble cast also included Mako as Akiro, Grace Jones as Zula, Wilt Chamberlain as Bombaata, Tracey Walter as Malak, Sarah Douglas as Queen Taramis, Olivia d’Abo as Princess Jehnna, Pat Roach as Thoth-Amon, Jeff Corey as Grand Vizier, Sven-Ole Thorsen as Togra, and Ferdy Mayne as The Leader.
“In his second cinematic adventure, the mighty warrior Conan is tricked into working for the scheming Queen Taramis. Along with finding a mystical horn, Conan and his allies, which include the fierce fighter, Zula, and the wisecracking sorcerer, Akiro, must protect the beautiful young Princess Jehnna. With deception and danger at every turn, Conan has to use all of his power to defeat the evil foes that stand in his way,” reads the movie’s official synopsis.
After its debut in 1984, the movie received mixed reception from critics and audiences alike. Unlike the first installment, the sequel wasn’t able to make a big impression on the audience. It currently holds a Popcornmeter score of 38% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is significantly lower than the first installment’s 74% rating.
