Glen Powell’s Twisters is coming to Peacock in January 2026

Peacock has confirmed that Twisters, the 2024 disaster film starring Glen Powell, will be added to its streaming lineup in January 2026. According to MovieWeb, the film is scheduled to arrive on the platform on January 15, 2026, expanding Peacock’s catalog. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung and written by Mark L. Smith, Twisters was released in theaters on July 19, 2024. The film serves as a standalone sequel to the 1996 blockbuster Twister.

The film centers on Kate Carter, a former storm chaser and trained meteorologist, who left the field after a failed experiment to weaken tornadoes resulted in the deaths of several close friends. Five years later, she works at an environmental agency in New York, monitoring weather systems from afar.

Her past resurfaces when her colleague Javi invites her to Oklahoma to help a private company developing advanced 3D tornado-tracking technology. Reluctantly, Kate returns and crosses paths with Tyler Owens, a high-profile storm chaser and online personality. As a severe tornado outbreak unfolds, they are forced to operate in increasingly dangerous conditions.

The movie’s cast includes Daisy Edgar-Jones as Kate Carter, Glen Powell as Tyler Owens, Anthony Ramos as Javi, Brandon Perea as Boone, and Maura Tierney as Cathy, among others.

Twisters received generally positive reviews from critics on release. The film currently holds a 75 percent critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on nearly 400 reviews. Meanwhile, audience response has been even stronger, with a 90 percent Popcornmeter rating. Commercially, the film performed well, earning approximately $372 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.
