Avengers: Doomsday 2nd Teaser Trailer Puts Spotlight on Returning MCU Hero

The second teaser trailer for Avengers: Doomsday has been released.

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is currently in post-production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the film will be released in the United States in less than a year. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, then follows in December 2027.

Following its premiere in front of James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash, Marvel released the first Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer, which revealed that Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers is returning to the MCU. New Avengers: Doomsday teasers are now continuing to drop weekly, with there reportedly being four in total.

What happens in the second Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer?

The Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer sees Chris Hemsworth’s Thor standing in the middle of the woods and praying to Odin. He says, “Of all the crowns, the kingdoms, the pride, I ask for none. Father, hear your son. I am not worthy of life, but yet I beg you to let the thread lengthen. Not for thunder, not for war…let me remain long enough to see my love once more.”

The “love” that Thor is referring to is his adopted daughter, Love, who was played by Hemsworth’s daughter India in 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder. The video ends with the promise that Thor will return in Avengers: Doomsday.

With a cast that further includes Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Channing Tatum as Gambit, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, and more, Avengers: Doomsday will be released in United States theaters on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU. Avengers: Secret Wars then arrives on December 17, 2027.
